Week 18… Redux

IMG_2777

What’s New This Week?
I am actually doing this post a day early because I didn’t want to wait until tomorrow.
Well, we have made it back to 18 weeks. I feel like we have been here before. The more I think about it the better I feel about the later due date and repeating weeks. As I read more about Baby B’s growth and development the more it makes sense. I wasn’t feeling a whole lot of movement and a few other “symptoms” when I thought I was 20 weeks, but now I’m actually beginning to feel a little bit more.

Also, our loan has been approved and we now have selected our homeowners insurance!!!! I can’t wait until we are in the new house and I can nest like a crazy lady!!!

Lately I have been LOVING Caramel & Mocha Frappuccinos from Starbucks. They are divine and Baby loves them. I like them a bunch too! :)
IMG_2765

I forgot to post this after Easter (pregnancy brain…) Grandma Kathy got us an adorable and heavy duty diaper bag from Thirty-One. Filled with all kinds of goodies like jelly beans, and yummy chocolates oh and a pelican (representing a stork).
I think Ben might even like carrying this one around. ;) We LOVE it!
IMG_2732

Since it is important to always have a back up… And I’m sure I will be that person who overpacks and will need 2 diaper bags when she goes out, I picked up this bad boy from COACH this past weekend. I mean how can you say no when they are having a 40% off sale? It ended up being cheaper than the bag I originally wanted to buy from Vera Bradley, so that is how I justified it. :) In my mind it works and now I feel like I am prepared in the department of diaper bags.
Once we were done looking at diaper bags we spent a good amount of time at Carters, Oshkosh B’Gosh, and Motherhood Maternity outlet stores and scoped out all of the cute little girl clothes that I want to buy, but I will wait until I have more space to keep them. I also found a few pairs of shorts and capris that I will buy once the weather warms up a bit… if ever.

IMG_2768

Also… Since we are moving at the beginning of July I have begun putting all of the things we get for Baby into a bin so it is all in one place for when we start the move and it helps me feel more organized. I would honestly like to begin packing now, but with the move still a couple of months away there is not much I can pack away yet. I can’t even pack away my winter clothes!! This “spring” is cold and I still find myself looking for sweaters.

IMG_2769

We also got this awesome card in the mail from our friend Sarah! I will be taking you up on the offer of babysitting as soon as I am ready!!! :)

Ben and I also went on a date on Saturday night. We went and saw the movie Divergent. I had just finished reading the trilogy so I really wanted to go and see it to see how it measured up to the book. Besides a few details that they changed or completely took out, the movie was really good. I can’t wait for the second one to come out. Plus the actor they got to play the main guy was pretty good looking too, so that made the movie easier to watch. ;)

How far along?  18 Weeks

Total weight gain/loss:  +6lbs

How big is baby: Baby is measuring in at 5.6 inches. Thats about the size of a Sweet Potato. Weighing in at 6.7 oz.

Sleep:  Sleep has been pretty nice lately. I wake up about once or twice to take a drink of water because I am always thirsty or to pee because that is also my other new hobby.

Best moment this week:  Noticing how much my hair has grown. I feel like it has grown so much in the past week or so. And finally buying some things for Baby B.

Movement:  I am finally starting to feel some movement. :)

Food cravings:  I love apples, Caramel and mocha frappuccinos, and popsicles.

Gender:  Girl, but “keeping our receipt” as the tech told us to.

Belly Button in or out? In, but it feels more shallow than what it was

What I miss: I miss climbing stairs without getting winded. Its all of that extra blood (what my dr. told me)

What I am looking forward to: Our next appointment with our OB in 2 weeks!

Milestones:  She is beginning to yawn, hiccup, suck, and swallow. She is also twisting, rolling, punching, and kicking. She is super busy in there!

One more bump photo!

Baby Update, House Update, New Due Date

IMG_2746

Where do I begin?! This week was so crazy! Lets start with the house. We will go in order of how the week has gone. Lets start with Wednesday. As most of you know Ben and I have been house hunting and we put an offer in on a house. The sellers accepted our offer and we had our inspection yesterday. Everything is great. The only things he noticed were that 2 more CO2 detectors need to be put in, one in the basement and one on the second floor. We also need to put a railing in the garage for the stairs that go into the house. Needless to say we are thrilled with the results and are just waiting for the bank to give us the $$$$$$. Closing will hopefully be at the end of may and we will move in to the house in July because of our lease.

IMG_2752And here is the house. We love it.

Now the moment you have all been waiting for. Baby!

So we had our appointment in Green Bay today with the Genetic baby Dr. because of some stuff my parents went through when all of us kids were born (so to be safe I have to do this to make sure baby is doing ok.)
Our ultrasound began at around 1:00 and we spent a good hour in there looking at babys fingers, toes, head, belly button and all those other fun things.

As it turns out my doctors here in Oshkosh were wrong about my due date and how far along I am. I am 17 weeks. Kind of  crazy because I thought I was half way…but I’m not. Oh well, what can we do? Our new due date is October 2nd. As for babys gender… Since I am only 17 weeks we can’t be 100% sure, but the tech. said as of right now it looks to be a GIRL. Of course this could change in the next three weeks she said…. But I am going with my gut and I’m announcing it now (unofficially). GIRL. (if it turns out we have a boy he will just have to wear the pink I already bought.)

SO that is my story. You all will be seeing week 18 and 19 again. No, I didn’t get confused… Its just how it is…

Week 19

IMG_2714

Happy week 19 everybody!

Life has been amazing and crazy busy since I last posted. What’s going on? On Sunday Ben and I went to a bunch of open houses. We figured that after all of the rain that we had the day before (2″) we would be able to take out the houses with wet basements (because who wants to deal with a wet basement as a first time homebuyer? not us) and we crossed a couple houses out because of that. We did find a house that we completely fell in LOVE with. So much so we put in an offer on the house. Once we know for sure we will let you all know. But how exciting is that? It is completely updated  (with a dry basement) and is totally amazing. :)

Yesterday we had our monthly appointment. We heard Baby B’s heartbeat. Its going strong at 154. Next week we find out if we are having a boy or girl, or one of both. (Hey I’m keeping an open mind. Just because we only hear one heart beat and feel one baby doesn’t mean another one can’t be hiding in there and the heartbeats cant be in sync, so thats that…)

Every now and then I feel a big kick (usually when I am driving so I cant stop what im doing and feel for some more… sassy baby)
Also, baby seems to like rock music. Whenever Thousand Foot Krutch – Courtesy Call comes on baby kicks more than normal this happened today… (for those who are curious, this is the song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CRPIInfuSCM .)

IMG_2703

Last Friday we went to Babies R Us and we spent about an hour and a half looking at strollers and car seats. If anyone has any recommendations please feel free to share them. We are looking for a jogging stroller because of all the camping we do it would be nice to take the stroller with when the time comes.

Week 18

IMG_2696

Welcome to week 18! Only 2 weeks until we find out if we are having a boy or girl.

Last week we spoke with a mortgage lender and we were pre-approved to buy a house. So last weekend we went to a few open houses. There were a few hits and a lot of misses. Tonight Ben and I met with a real estate agent and began actually looking at houses. We liked a few, but we would like to keep looking to see what is out there.

The weather lately has been AMAZING! We have been talking walks like its our job. Ruby has really been loving this weather as well! Along with this nice weather comes allergies and they have hit me hard today. no bueno…

IMG_2685

Ben and I have also had some cookie dough sitting in the fridge from Papa Murphy’s. He told me that he would make make the cookies, but didn’t. SO I made them.

Week 17

IMG_2677(please excuse my bumpy skirt in the photo.)

Wow! We are almost half way done baking this little bun. It’s still kind of crazy to think that I am growing a little person. I’m sure it will feel more real once I start feeling some kicks here and there. Nothing to report yet on that front though.

As you can see I’ve “popped” and my belly is getting bigger :) Sleeping is starting to get uncomfortable (this all started last night too…) I’m going to have to bust out the body pillow tonight. Every time I end up sleeping on my back, or roll close enough to be on my stomach  I wake up. No fun…

Since Ben and I have decided to share our pregnancy journey with all of you we decided that we wanted one little nugget to be kept to ourselves and a surprise for you guys. We have decided that we will be keeping baby’s name under wraps until he or she comes into the world. One of the main reasons is that I can’t make a decision for the life of me right now. Also, knowing me the baby’s name will change on a daily basis :) and it wouldn’t be nice of me to keep changing it on everyone. So that is that.

Also some exciting news!!! Ben and I have booked a flight to Las Vegas to visit our family! We will be leaving on a Saturday afternoon (flying out of Minneapolis) and we will be in Vegas until Wednesday morning, and then we will be taking an Ikea trip (hence flying out of Minneapolis). I am super excited for a babymoon!!!!!! I just can’t wait!

Don’t forget to take part in our baby pool.

IMG_2682    My Awesome Project today! I LOVE SKITTLES right now.

How far along?  17 Weeks

Total weight gain/loss:  +8lbs

How big is baby: Baby is measuring in at 5.1 inches. Thats about the size of an onion. Weighing in at 5.9 oz.

Maternity clothes?  I only have the shirts and 2 pairs of leggings. Although all of my pants barely zip up anymore, so I am in the market for a pair or two of jeans, and capris. I plan to buy mostly skirts and dresses though.

Sleep:  As of last night I wake up when I roll onto my back. Looks like I will be busting out the body pillow tonight.

Best moment this week: Going to my cousin’s wedding shower. It was super nice to see family and update them on my pregnancy.

Movement:  I don’t think so…

Food cravings:  Peanut butter & Jelly, French fries, skittles, steak with mashed potatoes

Gender: According to the old wives tale if a pregnant woman dangles her wedding ring on a strong, or some other weighted pendant, over her belly. If it goes back and forth it’s a girl. If it goes in a circle, it’s a boy. Back and Forth. Girl. I will be really shocked in a few weeks if we find out we are having a boy.

Belly Button in or out? In, but it feels more shallow than what it was

What I miss:  Sleeping on my stomach

What I am looking forward to: Our next appointment with our OB on the 14th. We get to hear the heartbeat again.

Milestones:  Baby’s bones are turning into bone and putting on some fat. Almost halfway!!!
