The Move Has Slowly Begun!!!!

If you can’t tell … Ben and I are super excited to actually be in the new house!

Friday night around 7pm our “tenants” called us and told us that “they got the hell outta’ there and we can go home now”. Once Ben hung up we started throwing a bunch of cleaning supplies together and we headed over to the house. Let me tell you, it looked like a completely different house! It looked like our house ready to be made into a home. Plus it was completely empty, THERE IS SO MUCH ROOM!!!! There was very little cleaning for us to do, so we went back to the rental and packed for an overnight stay!!!!

The weekend was dedicated to getting just the essentials here, because I want to stay in the nice house with Central Air… Can you blame me? It was also really important to get the animals here to get them all settled into the new home.

  • Ruby is loving the new house (she has so much room for activities) the only thing she dislikes is the stairs. She is not a fan of the dark enclosed space.
  • Java is already Kitty King of the house. He is LOVING IT!
  • Snickers is still in hiding and only comes out to eat.

Other than that my parents and brother are coming down for the weekend to help us move some more stuff to the house. And then on Monday Two Men and a Truck will be moving all the heavy stuff. That should hopefully be it and Ben and I will be officially moved into the house!!! YAY!

26 Weeks

I don’t think you’re ready for this belly.

I’ve noticed that my weekly pregnancy updates have gotten a little off track, and that they have become more of a general blog. So I will be trying my best to just keep the pregnancy updates pregnancy/baby related. I will try to do posts about the house and just general Ben and I stuff separately. Now that that is out of the way lets get on with it shall we?

This week has been pretty low-key except a few interesting moments.

Last Thursday I was having some light cramping (it felt like I was going to start my period) so I called the nurses line at the hospital and they reassured me that it was most likely round ligament pain / stretching (which I what I thought … I just wanted some peace of mind and to make sure I wasn’t losing my mind) and if the pain became more severe to call back. They told me to drink a some extra water to keep myself hydrated and to take it easy. Then around 9:30pm (when Ben and I were watching “The Miracle of Life”) the cramping pain became more intense and concentrated in my right side. I took a warm bath and some Tylenol and the pain went away somewhat so I went to bed. I woke up around 11 and the pain was 10 times worse and Little Lady B stopped moving so we got really worried. So Ben and I went to the hospital. 2 Hours on the Fetal monitor, an IV, 2 more Tylenol, and some Maalox later the doctor was stumped, but my pain was subsiding. They are thinking that it was gas … Who knew that gas could feel like someone was stabbing you in the side? I didn’t. I didn’t eat or drink anything different so we aren’t sure what caused it or if it even was gas, but I haven’t had that pain since. We will just have to keep an eye on it I guess.

In other news:

I got my Honest Company sample packs. I got some diapers and wipes and some creams and cleaning sprays. To get some more information about their products you can go here. I can’t wait to see Little Lady in these cute diapers! :) They also now sell this awesome stuff at Target!!! Like I need another reason to go there.

Also… We may or may not have narrowed down our name choices for Little Lady! But nothing solid yet.

Today I set up a tour at a daycare. Arts for Kids came highly recommended by several people here in Oshkosh. We will find out on Monday! I like what I’ve been reading on their website. *fingers crossed* that it works out and we like it!

IMG_3066

This happened the other day. My belly pretty much touches the steering wheel. Time to scoot the seat back!

I feel like everything is falling into place. We just need to get moved and get her room all set up!

All that’s left if the update!

How far along?  26 weeks. So close to the big 3rd Tri!

Total weight gain/loss:  +18

How big is baby: Baby is measuring in at 13.6 – 14.8 inches. That’s about the size of a head of lettuce. Weighing in at 1.5 – 2.5lbs.

Maternity clothes?  I lied …  I bought one more dress and it is so comfy!!!!

Sleep: It has been fantastic. I only wake up once or twice and I can go right back to sleep.

Best moment this week: Seeing my belly move with Little Lady B if she punches / kicks hard enough.

Movement:  My child is a raver. She is constantly moving right now. It’s kind of distracting.

Food cravings:  Lately (I think it’s because of the heat/humidity) I haven’t been in the mood for food, just ice water and popsicles.

Gender:  Little Lady

Belly Button in or out? In right now, but I just have to stretch my stomach a bit and it pops out. I predict in a few weeks I will have an outie. This week I found a freckle in my belly button that I never knew was there before. I have named him George.

What I miss: Nothing this week. I’m pretty content.

What I am looking forward to: Moving and setting up her nursery. And daycare tour on Monday.

Milestones:  Her eyes are forming and will soon start to open. Her eyelashes are now grown as well. Her immune system is getting ready for the outside world by soaking up my  antibodies. She is taking breaths too. She is growing up so fast!

TO DOs:

  •    Start the pediatrician search
  •    Find a daycare
  •    Daycare tour on Monday
  •    Baby room
  •    Find a Medical supply store to order/get my breast pump.

25 Weeks

This is my blog … it is a no nonsense blog

.IMG_3055

So this week has been interesting and fun-filled. Last week we left off with some really crabby rants of mine… I’m glad you all really enjoyed them and it was nice to see that I am not alone in the “lets judge/stare at the pregnant ladies game” that so many people like to partake in. Reading all of your comments made me feel better, so thank you!

On Saturday the 14th (AKA Flag Day) we celebrated my 26th birthday with my parents. We went “camping” at J.W. Wells State Park in Cedar River, Michigan. The reason I put the quotes around camping in the previous sentence is because I don’t really consider it camping. The sites are wide open and you are pretty much right on top of your neighbors, this park has electricity and it also has running water (toilets and showers). We only camped here was because we were unsure if my mom had to work and where we normally camp is approx. 3ish hours from Oshkosh, so we would only be able to enjoy ourselves there for a day and a half, so we were like let’s stay close to the parents’ house so Wells it was. {FUN FACT: Ben and I are more rustic campers. We like being in the middle of nowhere with no running water or electricity. We like to “rough it” as some people call it.} We had S’mores every night and yummy campfire food. I hope we can get out camping again this summer. :)

IMG_3023 IMG_3044 IMG_3025
For my birthday Ben got me a Kindle!!!! I haven’t really put it down since I got it, there is so much reading to catch up on before the baby comes!!!! J If anyone has any book suggestions toss them my way!

IMG_3020

Father’s Day was on Sunday so we took my dad out to lunch at the Downtown Sandwich & Ice Cream – AKA Sub Shoppe. YUM Subs and cheese curds. I should have gotten some ice cream. I wonder if they still have the bubble gum flavor??

Then it was back to reality on Monday… I went through the normal Monday things:

  • Oh yeah… I’m pregnant. Most of my work clothes don’t fit
  • Where is my lunch box? Ben have you seen my lunch box? No? *cries because she can’t find her lunch box.
  • I have no more apples? L *cries some more*

Then at work I have a revelation… I CAN’T SEE MY FEET ANYMORE!!! Where the heck did they go???? I mean, I have small feet it was bound to happen but… I miss them.

IMG_3046
On the plus side we did get to go see our house. The “tenants” had us over to show us some of the things about the house… water shut off valves, rain gutter heaters, etc… I can’t wait to start moving. Hopefully we get to start at the end of the month!!! :)

Speaking of moving I hired some movers to move our heavier items J WOOT.

To answer some people’s questions, because I know they are afraid to ask… yes, I’m pregnant! Thanks for staring! J AND… Why yes, I do know that I have a short torso… Thanks for the anatomy lesson on my body that I have lived in for 26 years. – I know this comes with the territory one day it wont bother me as much… I hope.

24 Weeks

IMG_3005

(Please excuse my pissed off look. It’s my new thing. At least my hair looks nice eh?)

Hello 6 months. It’s nice to meet you. Please be kind to me and my body.

I just hit me today that if I am 6 months today and I’m due in october I have approximately 4 months left. So are women pregnant for 10 months instead of the commonly thought 9? Maybe they don’t count the first month because you don’t know about it? Oh well.

WARNING: there may or may not be a few rants in this blog. Don’t read them If you don’t want to. I do this blog so I have a record of this pregnancy and all of the crazy things that are happening to me and thoughts that occur to me.

This past Tuesday (the 10th) was Ben’s 27th Birthday. We went out to dinner at Ala Roma in Fond du Lac, and Oh.My.God. their food is amaze-balls. You get so much and it isn’t expensive at all. If you are looking for good italian food and are near Fond du Lac, be sure to check them out. You wont be disappointed. After dinner we went and saw the movie Neighbors. It was hilarious. Zefron and Seth Rogan were great. There were also cameos of The Lonely Island, and the boys from Workaholics. Classic. If you are looking for a laugh check it out. Now the question on all of your minds is what did I get him for his birthday. Well, remember last week when I blogged about getting a PS4. Well that is his birthday/fathers day/anniversary present.

IMG_2986

(He’s so excited. Can’t you see!?)

*RANT 1*
While Ben and I were out to dinner at Ala Roma for his birthday I made the trek to the bathroom. While on my way to the bathroom almost everyone in the restaurant (that is what it felt like) stopped what they were doing, looked at my belly, looked at my face, then looked at my ring finger (only to find that I wasn’t wearing a ring. [It didn’t fit that day]) and I just felt the judgement. Yes, I understand that I look like I could be 19, but COME ON. Don’t you people have better things to do than judge a pregnant woman who’s emotions are bouncing off of the fricken wall? I guess not. And most of the people staring were parents, and women who I would guess are moms. I imagine they have been pregnant (seeing as how they have 4 children, ages ranging from 6ish-17ish) they could have had days where their rings didn’t fit.

This wasn’t the first time this has happened either.
A few weeks ago Ben and I were are Menards picking up my supply of sour gummy worms and we walked by this elderly woman who looked at me, looked at Ben, looked at my ring finger (again no ring for the same reason) and just GLARED. What the f*** is wrong with people?

IMG_2997

So because of these two incidents I have resorted to this. I am now wearing a ring that      fits my finger when I go out into public when my wedding bands don’t fit. The next            person that I feel looks at me in a judge-y way I will slap.

Nothing else really exciting happened this week. On Monday our house we live in had a showing so Ruby and I took a nice long and slow mile walk. A walk that usually only takes 20 minutes took us about 45 minutes. We had to take is slow so we didn’t walk in on a showing so we stopped and barked at some birds and smelled all of the fire hydrants.

*RANT 2 & 3*
If you are going to ask me how I am feeling (and want an honest answer) I will tell you. I feel HUGE. And before you start to tell me “oh honey just you wait you will only get bigger” understand I am only 4’10” and I UNDERSTAND that I will only get bigger. I also, have never been this big in my life so it is quite a shock to me when I look in the mirror and see this belly of mine just growing and growing on a daily basis.
Also. Stop giving me unsolicited advice. If I want to know something I will ask you. Just because you have kids and “have been through this before… Trust me…” doesn’t mean I want your input. Don’t try to tell me that I NEED to breastfeed and if I get an epidural I am damaging my baby. To be frank it is NONE OF YOUR DAMN business. These are the choices Ben and I are making together. This isn’t your baby. It is mine and Ben’s.

Sorry this entry is full of rants, but I can’t handle peoples stupid anymore.

IMG_2995

We went grocery shopping and Ben let me control the cart. We ended up in the snack and candy aisle. hehe oops.

Now that you are all caught up with my life, on to the update.

Sleep: It’s been nice. I’m “enjoying it while I can” because that is what everyone is telling me.

Best moment this week:  Celebrating Ben’s birthday.

Movement:  My child is a raver. She is constantly moving right now. It’s kind of distracting.

Food cravings:  No severe cravings this week. The only thing that I had to have was Ice Cream Sandwiches.

23 Weeks

IMG_2983

23 weeks down, 17 to go. It seems like that is not a lot of time. Although when I was 17 weeks I felt like those weeks took forEVERRRRR. Oh well I guess we will see how this goes. Hopefully not too fast. We have a lot to do before this baby comes!

WHAT’S BEEN HAPPENING?:
Where do I begin? Well, since the last blog Ben and I have closed on our house, vacationed in Las Vegas, and went on an IKEA shopping spree. Let’s begin shall we?

Since our closing got pushed back a day, we ended up closing on our house on Friday, May 30th. Our lender called Ben and told him that since we were renting back to the previous owners for a month the $825 that were paying us was just going to go towards the closing costs. Apparently the title company had an issue with that, and we ended up writing a check for about $500. Which is way less than what we were expecting to pay in the first place. And they were really nice about it since it was so late in the afternoon the accepted a personal check instead of making us go and get a cashiers check. So… Once that was done we signed our lives away for 30 years (probably only 5-7 in this house if we keep having kids ;).). So we became Homeowners/Landlords all in one day. Amazing. When will we be moving? Since our lease isn’t up until the end of July, we decided to take the whole month to move. Although I would like to be almost 100% in the house by the second weekend. We shall see. :)

As most of you know Ben and I went to Las Vegas for a long weekend/babymoon/visit/love up on the family time. We had such a great time!!! We got there Saturday night and left Wednesday morning. Here are some of the HIGHLIGHTS!

Ben and I waiting for take off

The Bumps first flight

IMG_2929

Brad invited Ben to go golfing the next day (sunday) so they went to Wal-Mart and got the XG4 golf clubs ($89) so they would’t have to rent clubs  for the same price (now all the visiting Beneshs’ that golf have clubs to use). These clubs apparently were amazing, and they didn’t break as predicted. How nerdy are these two? So sweet, they match! :)

The Result of a day of golf.

IMG_2930

While they were out golfing Jazzmen, Ma$e, AJ, & I went to breakfast at Rachel’s. All I have to say is Oshkosh needs one. I really really would love some of their french toast right about now.

IMG_2962  IMG_2940

It was also Brad’s birthday while we were there. We went to the Linq and explored, ate at The Flamingo buffet (OMG pregnant lady HEAVEN. Let me tell you. YUM). We then went on the HighRoller which is the tallest observation wheel in the world (bigger than London’s). It was pretty great! :)

The rest of the time was spent eating buffets and Texas de Brazil (meat), and sitting out by the pool and in the pool in my bikini (no shame) with lots and lots of sun screen on. The bump also got so much love. I don’t know who misses Jazzmen’s belly rubs more… me or the baby. There was also a lot of love spread out to Mason and AJ. And some quality time with Bri. I miss them already. I can’t wait until October when I get to see them all again!

IKEA was amazing! We spent about 2 hours there. We picked up the baby’s crib, mattress, and bookshelf that turns into a changing table if I can get my hands on the attachment. All thats left for us to get is a dresser and EVERYTHING ELSE :)
Crib Shelf
This is the set we got. We are sooo excited to build it all…. Well, Ben is ;)

After 8 hours of traveling yesterday, we finally made it home. Only to find that the PS3 had decided to die. So… me being the awesome wife I am went out and got the new PS4 for Ben. Can we say most awesome wife ever. Not too sure what I was thinking, seeing as how we have a kid on the way and he wont get to use it too much once she gets here. But it has the blu-ray player and netflix so I can almost justify it. :)
